The following information was gathered in its entirety from Errick's press kit.

Errick Lewis has built his life and career around his passion for music. In addition to being a world class bassist, Errick is a talented multi-instrumentalist and producer, owning his own label, X-vibe Records. He is well versed in funk, R&B, rock, jazz, and hip hop genres, and has worked with a number of well-known artists such as: Stevie Wonder, D'Angelo, Lauryn Hill, Jay-Z, Common, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Snoop Dogg, Wu Tang Clan, Jill Scott, Raheem DeVaughn, and Mike Phillips. He was Erykah Badu's musical director for three years.

A native of Compton, CA, Errick is a self-taught musician who was raised around music, playing drums in church when he was 8 years old. At 13, Errick began touring with gospel stars Kurt Carr and Hezekiah Walker. Having mastered the drums, Errick took up the bass at age 15, and felt an immediate connection with it. He first ventured into the hip hop scene at 16 years of age, as a dancer and musician for Tyrese Gibson. Errick performed with some of the top names on the music scene, at arenas across the United States: The Playboy Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, Sun Fest, The Blue Note in New York City, Blues Alley in Washington D.C., and Hollywood Bowl. In 2008, Errick was featured on the Gospel Chops Volume 4 DVD with fellow bassists Andrew Gouche, Jon Reshard, Justin Raines, Marcus Phillips, Dwayne Wright, Damian Erskine, and Robert Lewis. Errick is sponsored by DR Strings, Spector basses, MTD basses, and Ampeg amplifiers. He is one of the few musicians to have been endorsed by Nike, which prompted his move to Portland, Oregon in 2008. In Portland, Errick began working with artists of all different genres -- Patrick Lamb, Janice Scroggins, and the Doo Doo Funk All-Stars -- to name a few. Errick has been the musical director for Karen Briggs and Kim Burrell, and co-produced saxophonist Hailey Niswanger's new album with Grammy Award Winner, Thara Memory.

In June of 2013, after spending years developing and exploring his musical ideas, Errick debuted his first album as a leader, Where Musician Ends and Instrument Begins. Here he showcases his skills as a composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, while playing bass, guitar, and keyboards. Errick aspires to become a full-time producer, working with up-and- coming artists to help them get established. Currently, Errick is a works full-time as a musician in Portland, and has begun composing for his second album.
